Topic 1    “Travelling. Transport. Your last trip.”

 

Millions of people all over the world spend their holidays travelling. They travel to see other countries and continents, modern cities and the ruins of ancient towns(руины древних городов). It is always interesting to see new places, different ways of life, to meet different people, to try different food, to listen to different music.

Those who live in the country like to go to big cities. There they visit museums and galleries, look at shop windows and eat at restaurants. Those who live in cities usually like to go to the sea or to the mountains. There they like to walk, to bathe (купаться) and to laze in the sun.(валяться на солнце)

Most travellers take a camera with them and take pictures of different unknown sights.

People can travel by train, by plane, by ship or by car.

When you travel by train you have a beautiful view of the countryside.(сельский пейзаж) You can even eat and sleep on board the train.

Travelling by plane is the most comfortable, convenient and the quickest way of travelling.

When you travel by ship you see the rise and fall of the waves, feel the fresh sea wind and hear the cry of the sea-gulls.(крик чаек)

Travelling by car is also very comfortable and fast. You can stop everywhere and enjoy everything.
