Features of Organizing the Activities of Support Specialists for Correctional and Developmental Work within the Federal Adapted Educational Program for Preschool Education

Our Organization carries out correctional and developmental work (CDW) and promotes inclusive education. The main goal is to provide correction of developmental disorders in various categories of children, including children with special educational needs (SEN), children with disabilities (CWD), and children with disabilities. We provide them with qualified assistance in mastering educational programs, contribute to their comprehensive development, taking into account age and individual characteristics, as well as their social adaptation.
What is Correctional and Developmental Work (CDW)?
CDW is a set of psychological and pedagogical support measures for students. It includes:
Psychological and Pedagogical Assessment: Identifying the developmental characteristics and needs of each child.
Individual and Group Correctional and Developmental Sessions: Aimed at overcoming difficulties and developing potential.
Monitoring of Developmental Dynamics: Continuous tracking of student progress.
In our Organization, correctional and developmental work (CDW) is carried out by highly qualified specialists: educators, educational psychologists, special education teachers, speech therapists, and others.
Correctional and Developmental Work Program (CDW Program)
Our Organization has the right and capability to develop a CDW Program in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard for Preschool Education (FSES DO). The program may include:
- Diagnostic and Correctional-Developmental Activities Plan: Clearly structured steps to achieve goals.
- CDW Work Programs: Adapted for various target groups of children with different Special Educational Needs (SEN) and starting conditions for program acquisition.
- Methodological Toolkit: A set of tools for conducting diagnostics, correctional-developmental sessions, and outreach work.
Content of Correctional and Developmental Work at the Preschool Education Level
1. Diagnostic Work:
- Timely Identification of Children Needing Psychological and Pedagogical Support: Early diagnosis of developmental deviations and analysis of the causes of social adaptation difficulties from the first days of a child's enrollment in the Organization.
- Comprehensive Information Gathering: Obtaining information about the learner from specialists of various profiles.
- Determination of Development Level: Assessment of the current level and zone of proximal development for children with disabilities.
- Study of General Development: Analysis of the general development level, considering the specifics of the nosological group, as well as the possibilities of verbal and non-verbal communication with peers and adults.
- Study of Emotional-Volitional Sphere and Personality Traits: Identification of individual educational and socio-communicative needs.
- Adaptation Assessment: Study of the learner's adaptation level and adaptive capabilities, as well as the direction of their giftedness.
- Identification of Interests and Aptitudes: Study and recording of the child's interests, aptitudes, and giftedness.
- Development Monitoring and Problem Prevention: Tracking children's development, preventing the emergence of psychological and pedagogical problems. Special attention is paid to identifying migrant children experiencing learning and adaptation difficulties, with differential diagnosis and assessment of the ethno-cultural nature of these difficulties.
- Comprehensive Study of the Child's Personality: In-depth psychological and pedagogical research.
- Identification of Adverse Factors: Study of social environment factors and educational risks.
2. Remedial and Developmental Work:
- Selection of Optimal Methodologies: Choosing correctional and developmental programs and psycho-pedagogical support methods that align with the child's individual educational needs.
- Organization and Conduct of Sessions: Developing and conducting individual and group sessions by specialists to overcome behavioral and developmental disorders, learning difficulties, and socialization challenges.
- Correction and Development of Mental Functions: Working on higher mental functions, the emotional-volitional and personal spheres, as well as psychological correction of behavior.
- Development of Communication Skills: Fostering social and emotional intelligence, and developing communicative competence.
- Correction of the Psychomotor Sphere: Enhancing motor coordination and regulation, and creating conditions for the development, learning, and upbringing of children with special needs.
